We create furniture pieces that echoe the rhythmic qualities of abstract sculpture. There’s a looseness of line that finds freedom in its rounded, bulging edges. Shapes balloon into the surrounding space in a muscular flourish. Our studio’s aim is to design items with distinct personalities that couldn’t be fully grasped from a single angle, embracing asymmetry.
One of the distinguishing features of DenHolm’s style is the rough, pagan-like textures, inspired by the exploration of clothing fabrications. These surfaces give off a seemingly fluffy appearance that contrasts with the materials’ actual density, resulting in a remarkable sense of lightness and freedom from conventional forms.
Our work can be seen as a fusion of various influences from different architectural periods, arranged in a way that defies symmetry and predictable rhythms. This approach challenges the prevalent symmetrical nature of the outside world and our own interior spaces.
